Why I Started My Own Golf Apparel Company
Golf has always been more than just a game to me; it’s a passion that brings joy, challenges, and a sense of community. Over the past four years, I’ve immersed myself in the sport, playing regularly and being an active member of my local club for over three years. Golf quickly became my favourite sporting activity, and I often find myself on the course at least three times a week—sometimes even four or five. For me, golf isn’t just about the swing or the score; it’s about the experience, and looking good on the course is an essential part of that.
As a woman who loves fashion and understands the importance of comfort, I noticed something troubling during my time on the golf course. While there is a seemingly endless variety of apparel options for men, the choices for women are surprisingly limited. Many of the options available for women are plain, uninspired, and often seem as though they aren’t tailored to fit a woman’s body properly. This lack of variety and style led me to explore online options, but I found that most were made in China with low quality fabrics that aren’t breathable and quickly become uncomfortable when you’re out playing under the sun.
The Realisation and the Birth of MyTee
It was last year when I truly felt the frustration of finding suitable golf apparel for women. I wanted golf shirts that not only fit well but also looked stylish and were comfortable enough to wear both on and off the golf course. That’s when the idea for MyTee was born. I decided to create a line of golf shirts designed by women, for women. Shirts that would combine elegance, comfort, and high quality.
My goal with MyTee is to fill this gap in the market by offering golf apparel that truly caters to women. Our shirts are designed in Australia and made in Europe, using high-quality fabrics made with Coolmax technology, which are breathable and perfect for staying cool and dry on the course. These shirts are not just about functionality; they are designed to celebrate a woman’s shape and style, offering both comfort and elegance.

When I set out to design our first collection, I looked to the rich history of golf fashion for inspiration. The vintage argyle pattern, a classic staple from the early days of golf, stood out to me as a symbol of timeless elegance. I wanted to bring a modern twist to this classic look, creating shirts that are not only fashionable on the golf course but also versatile enough to wear in everyday settings.
